Children’s programs 9/7-9/13 @ MPL: LIFE SIZE CLUE GAME!!!
School may have started, but the fun for kids continues all year long at the Milton Public Library! In addition to our regular storytimes on Monday and Tuesday, we have these exciting programs for the young people in your life happening during the week of September 7 – 13:
Tree at library comes down
The copper beech tree that stood over the grounds of the library is being removed. The tree has been in declining health for several years and the trustees voted to remove it due to public safety concerns. Click “Read more” for additional photos. (Photos courtesy of the Milton Public Library)
Registration now open for Milton Adult Education courses
Registration is now open for Milton Adult Education courses. Offerings include art, crafts, computer skills, foreign languages and more. You can find the complete course listing with instructors, schedules, and descriptions here.
You can register online here or take advantage of walk in registration nights on September 15th and 16th from 6-8pm at Milton High School. If you have questions please email Jen Troy.

MPD seek suspect in Santander Bank Robbery

On Tuesday August 26, 2014 about 5pm, an unknown suspect (white male, approx. 5”11-6ft, 250lbs-300lbs, no facial hair, blonde eyebrows and hair, missing front right tooth, wearing a black Bruins fitted baseball hat, black V-neck t-shirt, grey sweatpants and sneaker) passed a demand note and obtained $80 dollars.
Milton Academy’s Pam White and “A Marriage to Remember”

I was reading the New York Times online yesterday and stumbled on an opinion piece, “A Marriage to Remember“, by Banker White, a documentary filmmaker. Mr. White’s mother has Alzheimer’s and he discusses his father’s support of her and writes:
The experience of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s can be incredibly isolating, at a time when you need support the most. We are grateful that this process has helped us to come together as a family and as a community to celebrate that most precious gift of all: our memories.
Teen Creative Writing Workshop at the library
On Monday, September 15 at 7 p.m., the Milton Public Library will begin its fall creative writing workshop series for teens. This workshop is the first of four. Any teens in grades 6 to 12 are welcome to join us for as many workshops as they are able to attend.
MPD notice: Bank suspect sought

Late this afternoon a male subject dressed all in black clothing entered Santander Bank on Adams St. in East Milton square. The suspect robbed the bank and fled on foot. A large search operation in the immediate area was negative. Investigators are on scene and we will have pictures posted as soon as they are available. Anyone with information on this crime, please call MPD @ 617-698-3800.
