If elected Selectman, Duffy intends to stay on Planning Board
In a brief conversation with Planning Board member Eddie Duffy, candidate for Selectmen, Mr. Duffy stated that if elected Selectman, he intends to continue to serve on the Planning Board for at least a year. He gave the following reason why.
Final RFP for Stoughton Land published
The Board of Selectmen have formally issued the RFP for proposals on the Governor Stoughton Land. The RFP, which became available on Monday, February 14th requires interested parties to submit their proposals by March 25th. There will be a pre-proposal conference on March 1 @ 10:00AM in the Cronin Conference Room.

Mtg notes: Plan’g Brd 02.10.11 (1) – Independent assessment of Hendries oak deems tree healthy
The black oak that has been standing in the way of progress at the Hendries site finally received its independent bill of health. The Mr. Matthew Largess of Largess Forestry determined the tree “is not perfect but it is a very healthy tree of its age . . .It is not a hazard to the public. I would like to see it preserved.”
News from the MPD: Michael Grant assigned to 911 dispatch; MPD to host forum @ Pierce on 2/17
The Milton Police Department recently announced that newly appointed Police Cadet Michael Grant will begin working in the Milton Police 911 Communications Center. Mr. Grant graduated from the Massachusetts 911/Operator-Dispatcher Academy in Taunton this past week. His start date is February 14th. Congratulations Mr. Grant!
Also, The Milton Police will be hosting a forum at the Pierce Middle School on February 17th @ 7:00PM. The forum will focus on safety issues for children at the school.
M-PACE to support artistic and cultural offerings in the schools
A group of Milton citizens are working to keep artistic and cultural offerings available to Milton Public School students. The group, M-PACE (Milton Partnership for Arts & Cultural Enrichment), works through the excise tax billing program to request donations.
Ed Duffy to run for Board of Selectmen
Prior to last night’s Planning Board meeting Ed Duffy made it official. He is going to run for the Board of Selectmen and collected signatures in support of that effort.
Update: Temple Shalom enters into P&S with Concord Baptist Church
Temple Shalom announced today that it has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to sell their property on Blue Hill Avenue to Concord Baptist Church of Boston. They state that “It is expected that the sale will be finalized in June of 2011.”
