Sen. Brian Joyce gives up leadership posts, pledges cooperation with ethics probe

State Sen. Brian A. Joyce, a Milton Democrat and a top deputy to state Senate President Stanley Rosenberg, relented to pressure Friday and agreed to cooperate with an ethics investigation into allegations that he improperly used his public office to benefit his legal clients. The Explore Japan Program, open to all Eastern MA area students ages 8-18, is a one-of-a-kind, two and a half week summer enrichment opportunity in Milton, MA. Students learn about the many facets of Japanese culture while hosting and spending time with visiting Japanese exchange students and making new life-long friends.

About 100 people packed a Quincy District courtroom Thursday for Law Day, an event that celebrates the various functions of the judicial system, including police, lawyers, judges, probation officers and volunteers. Three judges presided over the event, and the Braintree String Quartet performed from inside the box typically reserved for defendants in handcuffs. (Read the full story here.)
