A Message from Milton DPW

We are Celebrating or 12th Annual Milton DPW Open House Day at 629 Randolph Avenue, Milton MA on Saturday May 16, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

To this fun-filled, free family event that celebrates National Public Works Week, and the thousands of men and women who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as Public Works.

This year we will be offering food and refreshments to all in attendance.
Both young and old can enjoy the many events that we will be hosting such as:

• DPW Trucks and equipment will be on display for children to come aboard, honk the horns and have a great time.
• Kids can also marvel at the recycling magic of BJ Hickman, who will be performing at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.
• In addition, the eleventh annual “Larry DeCelle Friend of the DPW Award” will be presented.
• BikeMilton (www.bikemilton.org) will be at the yard, running a used bike sale from 10am-4pm. Bikes may be donated Friday May 15th 5-6:30pm and on the day from 8.30-10am
• Sustainable Milton will also be at the event, helping to give insight to recycling, reuse, and conservation measures to give a new lease on life to unwanted items

Collections

• Collections for inkjet cartridges and cell phones to raise funds for Milton Schools
• Collections of button cell batteries, thermometers and thermostats containing mercury (recycling these keeps hazardous substances out of our waste stream)
• Earthmover compost bins will also be available for purchase during the day.
Composters cost $42 (checks payable to Town of Milton please).

• Samples of the Great American Rain Barrel Company products will be on display.
GARB is a local company located in Hyde Park, MA for more than 20 years.
Barrel orders will be taken during our event for pick-up in Hyde Park later on.
