There is a person on the Board of Selectmen some would consider a liberal, another that some consider a conservative. McEttrick is neither. If the Board of Selectmen has an independent it is Marion McEttrick.
Shotgun shell found outside Milton High School

The high school was in lock down for nearly four hours Monday after a parent found a shotgun shell outside the main entrance.
Deputy Police Chief Charles Paris said officers using specially trained dogs from Quincy and Boston police were unable to uncover any weapons or ammunition during a search of classrooms, lockers, common areas and student backpacks. (Read the full story here.)

Advisory: Flooded roads in Milton

Please be advised of the following road closings and trouble spots:
- Bryant Ave by the expressway this is impacting traffic in the square and on Edgehill Rd.
- Garden St. is closed
- Harland St. is closed from Unquity to Hillside
- Brook Rd. is closed from Randolph Ave to Pleasant St.
That’s a list of the closures for now -they do cause problems in other areas and Quincy also has several streets just over the border that are closed.

A recent article in the Argus Press reported that local bar owners in the latest state to establish a smoking ban are furious. Michigan is the 38th state to go “smoke free” in restaurants, bars, and workplaces.
State may cut $200m from local aid

36 Central Ave development has new owners
At the last Planning Board meeting, a meeting that at times resembled the old Abbott and Costello “Who’s on First” routine, the board discussed several issues. They included an update from Richard Kleiman, chairman of the Wind Energy Committee; a hearing on 36 Central Ave; and a hearing on extended hours for 88 Wharf.
