Once a month, an after school movie is shown in the library for teens. Movie choices have been posted on Facebook, Tumblr, and at the library in the teen room. Cast your vote at any of these locations. 

Senator Joyce Named to Senate Leadership Post

By a unanimous vote of the Democratic caucus, Senator Brian A. Joyce (D-Milton) has been named Assistant Majority Leader of the Massachusetts Senate. Senator Joyce was also named Chairman of the Senate Committee on Bills in the Third Reading, the committee that must review and approve all legislation before it may proceed to the Senate floor.

Kathleen O’Donnell Updates Rotary on 40B Projects in town

Kathleen O’Donnell, a lawyer hired as special counsel to the Town of Milton to provide advice on several upcoming housing projects with an affordable component (“40B Projects”) spoke to the Milton Rotary Club at their regular meeting on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Schools approve $500K cut to budget; staff cuts outlined

At their meeting on January 14th, the school committee voted to approve a $500,000 cuts to their requested budget. Chair Leroy Walker reported on a couple of meetings that had been held with other town officials at which a decision was made to recommend a FY16 budget that would use a significant amount of the estimated ~$2.9 in free cash to cover operational expenses and serve as a bridge to FY17 at which time they would look to pass an operational override.

There could be a race for Selectman

Nomination papers became available at the town clerk’s office yesterday and two residents have taken out papers for the office of Board of Selectman, incumbent Denis Keohane and David Burnes of Garfield Road.

Teen Study Skills Workshop

On Wednesday, January 28 after school from 3 to 4pm, the Milton Public Library teen department welcomes English teacher and tutor, Eliza Wagner Srestha to host a study skills workshop after school for any teens in grades 6 to 12. The session will be experiential and hands-on focusing on Homework and Organization.
