About a year ago the Milton police were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance that was nothing short of volcanic. The response of the police was ample testament to their valor.

Every year as the election results are tallied, candidates appear at town Hall and say a few words to Bernie Lynch, host of Milton Speaks, and his panel of local political savants including Mary McNamara, Marvin Gordon, Joe McEttrick, John Shields, and Beirne Lovely.

Kathy Fagan, as is customary, showed up at town hall on the evening of the election after the results were in and conceded the election to Bob Sweeney who defeated her by just 32 votes. Milton native leads Boston Irish team up to help Haiti orphans

A large group of Bostonians of Irish heritage, chaired by Winnie Henry of Milton and Pat “Doc” Walsh of Dorchester, have gathered to raise funds to support relief efforts for Haitian children orphaned by the January 12 earthquake in Haiti. (Read more here.)

Bob Sweeney won election to the Board of Selectmen Tuesday night narrowly defeating the incumbent Kathy Fagan by 32 votes. There were 5920 votes cast. Mr. Sweeney won by 1/2 of 1%. It was close; but a win is a win. Congratulations Mr. Sweeney!
