Milton resident and Fontbonne Academy Instructional Technology Specialist and Teacher, Dianne Pappafotopoulos, recently received an award for her ten years of service with Virtual High School (VHS). VHS, an organization based in Maynard, MA, is a leader in online education and professional development.
Swastika, racist graffiti left at Curry College

Swastikas were found in two dorms at Curry College, along with a racially offensive word scratched into a door.

Milton Players to stage American classic “A Streetcar Named Desire”
Local drama group, The Milton Players, will present Tennessee Williams’s classic, A Streetcar Named Desire, beginning November 5.
Go Wildcats! Soccer and Volleyball enter MIAA tournament play this week end
Milton High has two teams in tournament play this week end. The girls varsity volleyball team (ranked 13) will take on Tri-County at 4th seeded Tri-County Regional High School in Franklin (view map). The game is at 7:00pm. You can view the complete tournament bracket here.

Milton victim’s family forgives man convicted in hit-and-run case

This Friday and Saturday Milton High School will be performing the Cole Porter classic, Anything Goes, and it will be fantastic. It features songs, jokes, and production numbers with tap dancing that includes the entire cast! That last item being a first for MHS. Milton resident Roderick Ireland nominated for chief justice job
This morning Governor Deval Patrick announced the nomination of Senior Associate Justice Roderick L. Ireland, a Milton resident, to serve as Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Justice Ireland, a highly regarded Associate Justice of the SJC and former Appeals Court and Juvenile Court judge, will, if confirmed, the first African American and person of color to serve as Chief Justice of the SJC.

Nationwide Democrats had a tough time of it but here in Milton the center held. Milton voted the democratic ticket and voted “No” on all three ballot questions (Question 1 did pass at the state level).
Milton saw a town wide voter turnout of 72% with Precinct 9 having the highest turnout (77%) and Precinct 1 the lowest (67%).
