Update: Shooting at Milton Hill House

News release from the Milton Police Department – updated @4:45.

Update (4:45pm) – The suspect in today’s arrest Jacqueline Scott, was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing in Quincy Court on May 29th.

Just after 3:00 am today Milton Police Communications received a series of 911 calls from residents of an apartment building located at 36 Eliot St. (Milton Hill House.)

The initial calls indicated that a resident on the third floor was “yelling for help.” Additional information revealed that an ambulance was needed.

In some ways, the story behind the Hendries redevelopment project reads like a cheap novel worthy of a grocery store endcap. It’s got drama, intrigue and even a murder…of an already dead tree. At some point, many people in Milton just stopped listening, while simultaneously lamenting the dilapidated behemoth sitting in the middle of an otherwise revitalized business district. From a community development perspective, what has happened at this site is a disaster

Man shot in Milton domestic shooting

A man is in the hospital following a domestic shooting.

Police say that a man was shot by a woman on Eliot Street. The man was taken to Boston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. (Read the full story here.)

Milton Native Colonel Paul Burke to Speak at Memorial Day Service

Paul V. Burke, a 1972 graduate of Milton High School and retired Colonel of the US Marine Corps will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Memorial Day Observance, Monday, May 25th.

Colonel Burke enlisted in the military after graduating from Loyola University in Montreal, Canada, serving first as a member of the infantry and then transferring to the air wing division of the Marines.

Bike Tour – Building the Neponset Greenway

Bike Milton will lead a casual-paced ride on Saturday, May 23 to show off all the new work along the Neponset Greenway. There is a lot happening, and we think you’ll be interested to learn more about this project, and the potential to turn it into a regional bikeway that links across Boston and as far as Medford.

Property Inspections Underway

Representatives of Patriot Properties Inc. are in the process of inspecting all properties in Milton. The Board of Assessors has contracted with the Massachusetts firm to inspect all classes of property required by statute, and to be completed later this year.
