Obit: Mary Dyer

We are sorry to report the passing of Mary Dyer, a longtime fixture at Town Hall where she worked in the  Treasurer’s Office. She was an avid runner having completed the D.C. Marine Corps marathon 4 times.

Mill Creek is proposing to develop an apartment complex on Brush Hill Road. The plans call for 276 units of which 69 (25%) will be affordable. The firm acquired 3 properties which combined are ~22 acres.

Stone Soup Series: Ed Karle on the State of Bees

The third the Wakefield Estate’s “Winter Stone Soup” gatherings will feature remarks by Ed Karle, President of the Norfolk County Beekeepers Association. Ed will give a brief talk on the state of bees. These sessions have been lively and informative.

News break — 40B plan filed for Hendries property

A 40B plan has been filed with the state to develop a residential property on the site of the Hendries building on the corner of Eliot and Central by 131 Eliot Street LLC. The proposed building will have 72 residential units according to a member of the development team. Details will follow as more information becomes available.
