Goodbye Governor and thank you

There is a changing of the guard at the Massachusetts State House. Deval Patrick left the building last night and Governor elect Baker will enter today.

Deval Patrick of Milton was a great governor who did not play favorites among the communities of the Commonwealth. Deval Patrick, who said to B.U.’s graduating class last May:

. . . human intimacy still matters. That’s how we build trust, how we convey kindness and grace, how we love, how we heal the world.

Our thanks to Senator Joyce for the photo of the Governor as he is about to take his lone walk.

Lastly, our best wishes to Governor Baker as he charts his course and steers the Commonwealth forward.

Even though Charlie Baker is about 6’6″ he has big shoes to fill.

We should all wish him the best. He seems to be a good guy who is liked even by his political opponents.

After a bit of R&R one of the national networks or cable outlets should hire Deval Patrick as a permanent political analyst. He does very well on Meet The Press and other similar weekly news programs.

I am sure we will see Deval Patrick contribute to the state and national scene again.
