Reminder tonight: Library Mobster Film Series Kicks off with Brinks Book Discussion

It was called the “crime of the century.” They were the robbers that everyone loved. Since the heist in 1950, there have been many stories and legends about the Brinks Robbery. Join Milton Public Library Director Will Adamczyk for a discussion of Stephanie Schorow’s book, The Crime of the Century: How the Brinks Robbers Stole Millions and the Hearts of Boston. Books will be available at the library’s Circulation Desk. If you just want to sit back and relax, join us later that week for a showing of the first film in our spring “Mobster Movies” series: “The Brink’s Job” starring Peter Falk (1978). This film is not rated and is described as a “crime caper” movie. It is both funny and suspenseful at the same time.

The book discussion will take place on Tuesday, January 7th at 7 PM in the Conference Room (lower level) and the movie will be screened at 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the Keys Community Room (lower level).

Join us for these fun, family events, and look forward to more mobster films to follow this spring, including “The Friends of Eddie Coyle.” Additional dates and titles will be announced. Light refreshments will be served at all screenings, they are free and open to the public, and are sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library. The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue, Milton. For more information, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757.
