The Neponset River Watershed Association, a conservation group dedicated to the preservation and protection of the Neponset River, has begun an online petition against a large apartment development on Brush Hill Road. The development, Milton Mews, will have significant environmental impacts according to the group, especially on Fowl Meadow, a part of the Blue Hills designated as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern.
The petition has over 600 signatures to date. The petition, which can be found here, states that:
This proposed 276 unit, 5 story development on Brush Hill Road in Milton will damage wetlands, water quality, habitats and recreation in the Fowl Meadow. We are not opposed to affordable housing, or development in general, but this site has uniquely valuable natural resources that shouldn’t be paved over with the help of state financing.
