BID-Milton to Address “Observation Status” and Other Issues at May 1 Forum

News release from BID – Milton Hospital

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton will host a community forum on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 to answer questions about “observations status” at hospitals, among other issues.

“A hospital stay can come with many complicated issues that can be difficult to understand, particularly when one is not necessarily in good health,” said BID-Milton Interim Chief Nursing Officer Lynn Cronin. In addition to “level of care” (observation and inpatient status), BID-Milton Clinical Social Worker Patty Wills and Case Management Director Marian Girouard Spino will discuss topics such as discharge planning, patient rights and responsibilities and healthcare proxy.

This free forum will be held in the Nangeroni Education Center at BID-Milton, beginning at 6:30pm on May 1. Pre-registration is required. To register, call the BID-Milton Community Education Line at 617-696-8810. Space is limited. For those unable to attend the May 1 forum, a second forum will be held on June 5, 2013.
