South Shore housing officials reject governor’s plan

South Shore officials say a plan to eliminate all local housing authorities in Massachusetts is an overreaction to problems in other parts of the state and would make things worse for tenants of public housing . . . “I think keeping it closer to home better serves the residents . . .,” said Joseph Duffy, chairman of the Milton Housing Authority’s board of commissioners.
