State Senate Candidates Joyce & Burr on Ballot question 3: rolling sales tax back to 3%

We sat down recently with candidates for State Senate, Republican challenger Bob Burr and incumbent Democrat Senator Joyce. Following are clips from those interviews in which they discuss their position on ballot question 3 which would roll back the sales tax to 3%.

Secretary Galvin’s summary of the ballot question states: “This proposed law would reduce the state sales and use tax rates (which were 6.25% as of September 2009) to 3% as of January 1, 2011. It would make the same reduction in the rate used to determine the amount to be deposited with the state Commissioner of Revenue by non-resident building contractors as security for the payment of sales and use tax on tangible personal property used in carrying out their contracts.” You can find the complete summary here.

The complete interviews will be broadcast this week end on Milton Access TV. The Burr interview will air on Saturday @ 7:30pm and Monday @ 6:30pm. The Joyce interview will air on Friday and Saturday @ 7:30pm.
