Board of Appeals opens hearing on Falconi proposal for East Milton restaurant

The Board of Appeals (BoA) opened a hearing for a special permit requested by the Falconi Companies with regard to a restaurant they want open at the site of the old Milton Cinema. A special permit is required principally to obtain approval from the board for the restaurant parking plan and reconstruction of the site. The proposal was presented by Marion McEttrick, an attorney representing the Falconi Companies. It was a long night.

Padera smokes the field in “All in for Chris” 5K

Becky Padera topped the field in this afternoon’s 5K “All in for Chris” 5K road race. The race was part oaf an afternoon of events to raise funds in support of Chris Lynch who is undergoing cancer treatment.   Daniel Mulhern and Jefferson Ryder finished 2nd and 3rd.

All in for Chris! 5k benefit 

There will be a benefit 5K for Chris Lynch who is battling leukemia. I will be there and hope you will be too.

Selectmen set new water & sewer rates

The Board of Selectmen received a final presentation and report from Joe Lynch, Director of Public Works, on the research and findings of analysis of water and sewer rates. Upon hearing the report and having some discussion the Board voted unanimously on rates for FY15 that represent a very modest increase over those currently set.

Last night’s selectmen’s meeting was a municipal cornucopia of discussions on issues and items from an array of elected officials and department heads. Arguably two of the more interesting may have been an update from Selectmen Chair Conlon on the Hendries development and from DPW Director Joe Lynch on possible changes to sewer and water rates.
