The Milton Public Library will host the second film in teacher Jeff Stoodt’s film series called “Segregated Worlds” on Thursday, November 8th, at 6:15 PM in the Keys Community Room. Mr. Stoodt’s series is in support of the themes included in To Kill A Mockingbird, the current Milton Reads book.The film is Imitation of Life and there will be trivia before it is shown at 6:15 and then the screening will happen at 6:30.

Library Foundation Gala a hit – funds raised in support of lifelong learning
The room was full, the food was fair, the auctioneer was amazing, the audience was generous, and the authors were both entertaining and informative. In short, the Milton Library Foundation’s 8th annual literary gala, at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel was a great success.

Town Meeting October 22

Town Meeting will be held on Monday, October 22 @ 7:30 in the Charles Winchester Auditorium at Milton High School. The warrant arrived at home recently however it should be noted that it is not current with what will be discussed at Town Meeting due to discussions and developments that took place subsequent to the warrant going to press.
Milton High School Boosters Can & Bottle Drive
The next Milton High School Boosters “Cans for Cats” monthly recycling drive at the high school will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The girls basketball team will be at the front entrance of the high school, 25 Gile Road, to collect your cans and bottles to help support the girls basketball program. Please stop by and support their team. Go Wildcats!
School Committee unanimously approves French Immersion cap with no sibling preference
The School Committee unanimously voted to approve a recommendation from Superintendent Gormley to cap the French Immersion program. The motion was made by Ms. Kelly and seconded by Ms. Bagley-Jones. However, it was left to Ms. Gormley to supply the bulk of the language, She essentially confirmed the language contained in her recent presentation regarding how the cap would be managed. The presentation stipulates the following:
