Quick storm update

Hope this finds everyone safe and warm. The driving ban was lifted yesterday afternoon at 4:00PM. The MBTA is still not running. Accoding to a notice on the T web siteDue to the impacts of a severe winter storm, MBTA service remains suspended on all modes on Sunday, February 10th, with a goal of restoring service on Monday, February 11, 2013.” Logan airport is open. There is no notice from the schools regarding tomorrow.

 

Jubinville shows independent streak as new governor’s councilor

When he ran for Governor’s Council last year, Milton attorney Robert L. Jubinville promised to be an independent voice on the state panel that considers judicial nominees. In his first month on the job, he appears to be making good on that pledge. (Read the full story here.)

Mtg notes: Selectmen 02.08.13 (b) – $3 mill in capital improvements & Ulin rink fee increases approved

The Board of Selectmen approved $3, 076,605 in capital improvements as recommended by the Capital Improvement Committee chaired by Amy Dexter, Town Accountant. Ms. Dexter. Joe Lynch, Director of the DPW, joined Ms. Dexter to present the recommendations. This is likely because the DPW will receive almost 70% of the $3 million. Lynch spoke to that issue.

At 4:00 pm an executive order goes into effect NO vehicles allowed on the roadways! Only public safety, medical & emergency personnel allowed. There is a $500.00 fine or a sentence of up to a year in jail if you are in violation..

Mtg notes: Selectmen 02.08.13 (a) – Residents object to flight path

The principal issue discussed at last night’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting was the proposed change to the use of Logan’s runway 33L which will increase flights over Milton and neighboring communities. A special citizens speak was set aside for the issue The first person to speak was State Senator Joyce.
