Miltonians love to walk and run whether here at home or out of town. Down in Nashville 3 MHS alums of the class of 2006 participated it the Rock and Roll Marathon & 1/2 Marathon to benefit St. Judes Hospital (nice T-shirts). And Yesterday was the Walk for Haiti here in town.

Young stepdancers perform to honor Jane Richard, injured in Boston Marathon bombings

The young dancers were unsteady on their feet as they took the stage. . . .But when it was over, a crowd of hundreds in the John Hancock Hall gave the girls a standing ovation. . . . The group of 6- and 7-year-old girls are from the Clifden Academy in Milton, and they were there to honor their classmate, Jane Richard, who was injured last week in the bombings at the Boston Marathon finish line. Troop 3 Milton Visits Gettysburg and Antietam
To kick off their Spring Break members of Milton’s Boy Scout Troop 3 travelled 450 miles southwest to the rolling hills of south central Pennsylvania to tour two of the greatest battlefields of the American Civil War, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Antietam, Maryland.
COA candidates’ debate a tame affair except. . .

Most of the candidates for town wide office appeared for the third and final forum of the campaign season yesterday morning at the Council on Aging. The Council on Aging debate is unique in that the questions for the candidates come from the audience, which makes it interesting especially when Gene Irwin asks a question or three.

Update – Brief bits: School Committee dithering re: policy covering policies; Status of Womans Club sale

Note: regarding the sale of the Womans CLub, the offer to sell was signed in March of 2013, not Deember of 2012 as recently reported in the Milton Times according to Ms. Deanna Seymourian, a member of the club.
At the last School Committee meeting a dispute began to brew regarding the review and revisions to policies. In effect, there appears to be a bit of a disagreement over the policy for managing policies. The policy subcommittee had made a series of recommendations to reword some existing policies and in some cases to eliminate them.
