High School highlights for 03.09.09

  • Seniors – Please check the glass case opposite guidance for information on scholarships.
  • Faculty/Staff Talent Show – Tickets are on sale on the main office for $10 each. (drum roll please…) and the countdown has started…. Three more days until the show of the century.  The Faculty/Staff Step Squad can’t wait to dazzle you with their fast moving feet and precision moves. All that and Bengay to prove it! See you on Thursday night!
  • There will be a very brief Film Club meeting after school today.
  • To all Freshman:  there will be Student Leader presentations during this week’s Wednesday and Thursday activity periods. Be prepared to participate.
  • Community Service:  The Milton Public Library needs approximately 150 volunteers for   the opening weekend – April 4 and 5. Information can be found at Milton Public Library Opening on Facebook.  Please sign up in community service.
  • Spring Sports begin March 16 – Signups will take place Monday through Friday, March 9 to March 13 and on Monday, March 16 from 2:30-4:30 pm in the athletic office. Students should have updated physicals, user fee check of $200 and a permission slip if they have not gone out for another sport.
  • Language Week celebrations will take place this week. We will celebrate Spanish Day(red and gold) on Monday, Latin Day (dress clothing or majestic purple) on Tuesday, French Day (blue, white and red) on Wednesday, Egypt Day (red, white and black) on Thursday and Milton Day (wear the colors of your heritage) on Friday.
  • The Math Club will meet on Wednesday in Room 123. We will be working on “Mastermind.” See Mr. Nassiff with any questions.
  • Are you very opinionated?  Do you enjoy arguing a point?  Do you want to learn how?  Come to the first meeting of the Debate Club on Wednesday in room 212 right after school.  See Felicia Iyamu or Jackie James with questions.
  • The Milton High School Key Club and Sewing Club are sponsoring a prom dress sale on March 25.  In anticipation of this event, the clubs are asking for donations of gently used prom dresses. Dresses will also be accepted on consignment. Donations may be dropped off in Room 243 by March 24.See Mrs. Donnelly, Mrs. Cove or Mrs. Lovett with any questions.
  • All and any students interested in helping 5th graders Paint a Mural at Glover after school on Thursdays, starting March 5th from 3:15-4:45 please tell Mrs Hughes and head over to Glover. They will be painting a mural for six weeks every Thursday and you will receive community service.
  • Baseball meeting on Friday, March 6th at 2:30 for anyone who would like to play. If you are unable to attend, please see captains Matt O’Neill, Mike Muse or Matt McDougall
