There will be a public hearing on the Consolidated Facilities initiative on April 28th @ 7:00pm at the Council on Aging.
Tony Cichello, the Chairman of the Committee, will give a presentation. This committee was formed by the Board of Selectmen to explore the feasibility of a new department in town that would be tasked with the maintenance and cleaning of municipal buildings and grounds. The committee deemed that such a department would be a positive step for the town as it would enable the town to realized efficiencies of scale across what are now stand-alone departments and buildings. There are two articles on the Warrant concerning the Facilities initiative. One is to move forward with establishing a department and the other is to provide seed funding of $138,000.
