Fuller Village welcomes the Castle Island Association for a slide presentation and lecture on Monday, April 26th. The public is invited to attend.
Castle Island is the oldest continuously fortified site in British North America. The first fort on Castle Island was built in 1634 for the sea defense of Boston. Both Fort Independence and Castle Island are on the State and National Register of Historic Places. Today’s program will include a slide presentation from the 1940’s to the present day as well as a Civil War soldier in uniform who will discuss camp life at Fort Independence!
