Greenwood proposes improving access to property information

My name is Todd Greenwood, and I am running for a seat on the Milton Board of Assessors.
I am running because I believe our current Board could be doing a significantly better job in terms of delivering cost-effective services to the town that reflect:

  • Value
  • Efficiency, &
  • Convenience

At present, it is time-consuming and cumbersome for our citizens to access public information about real property in the town.    Also, minimum standards are adhered to in terms of public notification of meetings, meeting times, etc.     I would work to change all of this.

My research has identified cost-effective service delivery options for the town that could be used not only by the Board of Assessors, but also by many other Town departments, such as the DPW, Police, Fire, Board of Health, etc.     This type of service, see (http://www.mapsonline.net) combines map data, parcel information, and assessment figures – and delivers them in an easy-to-use online format that is accessible to everyone for a very low annual cost.

Over 20 cities and towns in the Commonwealth, including Westwood, Reading, Concord, Falmouth and Franklin currently subscribe to this type of service – and many municipalities cannot image how they functioned without it in the past.

I can explain these points in detail to anyone who is interested – or you can visit my website http://www.greenwoodforassessor.com for more info.

Please vote for me on April 27th so I can begin to make these types of improvements a reality.

Thank you.
