FAA and Massport Webinar

The FAA/Massport and Logan Airport Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) is holding a Webinar on Monday, May 18, 6-8pm on two proposed procedures to Runway 4L arrivals to Boston- Logan International Airport.  The procedures involve RNAV (concentrated flight paths) approaches.  One is an RNAV Visual Approach and the other is an RNAV GPS Instrument Approach.

When this flight path is in place it will be the 4th RNAV over our town.
The Webinar, “Communities Affected by Proposed RNAV Procedures to Runway 4L”, will be connected to a live in-person meeting taking place at the State Transportation Building in Boston.  Milton will have representation at the meeting, but the FAA/Massport’s invitation list is very limited even though the new procedures directly affect residents of our town.
If you plan to join the Webinar, please run a test WebEx meeting sometime before the meeting by clicking here http://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html and then following the instructions.  Some browsers need an additional application to work.
On May 18, a few minutes before 6pm, please connect to the Webinar by following the directions given below.
Questions?  Milton’s Logan CAC representative, Cindy L. Christiansen,  will try to get answers (cLcMilton@gmail.com)

Will the meeting be accessible to the public after the session. Also I have been calling the FAA noise hotline frequently these past weeks as the larger, noisier and low-flying planes seem to have increased. In my Woodchester Drive neighborhood, it is common to have the planes passing at 3 minute intervals….this is not an exaggeration. but recorded fact. In fact, sometimes, they are so frequent that one hears a 2nd one coming before the first one has cleared. While I am not happy about the frequency, it is the squealing of the engines in the low flyers that is very unsettling. Of course, I could call the hotline for almost every plane, but I am calling for only the noisiest and lowest flying, the latter to determine if they are below 2000 ft. and only when I am outside and can see that they are especially low. The problem is getting a printed confirmation of the altitude and make of the plane from the hotline verifiers takes approx 2-3 weeks or more. I wish more residents would call 617 561-3333 and report the worst offenders.
