Celebrate Patriot’s Day weekend right here in Milton – Tour the house where Dr. Joseph Warren and Paul Revere made history!
Come to the Suffolk Resolves House, 1370 Canton Avenue, on Sunday, April 19, from 1-3 PM. Members of the Milton Historical Society will be there to welcome you and to answer questions about the place of this house in the popular resistance to British rule that set the stage for the American Revolution.
As a special treat this year, Dr. Joseph Warren (portrayed by Michael LePage) will be joining us! Dr. Warren, a true Son Of Liberty, came to Milton in 1774 and signed the Suffolk Resolves, a resolution about independence, at a house belonging to Daniel Vose in Milton Lower Mills. Today that house, relocated to Canton Ave. and known as the Suffolk Resolves House, is home to the Milton Historical Society.
When Paul Revere, on one of his less famous rides, delivered the Suffolk Resolves to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, John Adams commented in his diary: “This was one of the happiest days of my life.” Join us to learn more about Milton’s important role in American independence!
