St. Michael’s Invites Community to Holy Week and Easter Sunday Services and Celebrations

St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Milton, MA is pleased to offer details for Holy Week and Easter services and celebrations. Current parishioners, as well as new families and individuals seeking an inviting church to celebrate Christ and the Christian faith, are invited with open arms and open hearts to attend.
Palm Sunday, March 29 – Mark the beginning of Holy Week with the blessing of palms, and Holy Eucharist and Passion Gospel Reading at 8am and 10am.

Maundy Thursday, April 2 – Commemorate the mandate (from which “maundy” is derived) given by Jesus at his last supper that we love one another as he has loved us. Simple supper begins at 7pm, with Holy Eucharist, foot washing (for those who wish it) and stripping of the altar, following at 7:30pm. An all-night prayer vigil at our Altar of Repose and Garden begins in the church at 9pm in the Memorial Chapel.

Good Friday, April 3 – Good Friday Liturgy will be held at noon. A special Good Friday Concert will be held at 7:30pm, with a reading and reflection from the Rector at 7pm. There will be a reception following the concert.

Easter Sunday, April 5
• Easter Morning Service– Ring in Easter morning at 6:30 in our Garden of Seasons (weather permitting).
• 9am Easter Sunday Holy Eucharist with Children’s Homily – Celebrate Easter at 9am with our young parishioners, and enjoy a children’s homily followed by Holy Eucharist. An Easter Egg Hunt follows, and all children are invited to choose a plant from St. Michael’s Garden of Repose in the Memorial Chapel to take home as an Easter gift. Nursery care is available during the 9am service.
• 11am Easter Sunday Holy Eucharist – Holy Eucharist with sermon will take place at 11am.
