Vapors of Morphine with Franc Graham (Friday March 20)
Vapors of Morphine grace the MAC stage with members of the late, great Mark Sandman’s legendary band, Morphine. The Vapors honor the legacy of its predecessor while staking out their own territory. Original Morphine members Dana Colley (baritone sax) and Jerome Deupree (drums) are joined by vocalist/guitarist/bassist Jeremy Lyons performing the music of Morphine, while mixing in their own work as well as interpretations of West African, Rock and Delta Blues tunes. The Wild Northern with Bob Bradshaw (Saturday, April 11)
The Wild Northern is a successful indie-rock-Americana quintet that includes three Milton High grads: Brian Gallagher, Jim Abdon, and Andy Guerini. The band finds inspiration in late night NYC dives, mythical American frontier animals, 12-year Highland Malts, and buffalo chicken pizzas, among other things. Their 2011 EP, Line of Demarcation EP in 2011, sent the band on tour between Boston and New York City. Local great, Irish-born Bob Bradshaw opens the show with his gorgeous songs and voice. Dennis Brennan with Cameron Keiber (Saturday, May 9)
One Boston’s finest singer songwriter and frontman since the 80s, Dennis Brennan rivets audiences with his powerful songs and performance. Used in films and TV (“Copland”, “The Matthew Shepard Story”,”Clockwatchers”, “Loveland”) Dennis’ songs are described as “lonesome, ornery and great.” by the Boston Globe. Peter Guralnick’s review of his latest CD captures Dennis’ magic: “The diversity is stunning as he takes listeners on a journey that comes from the gut.” MAC welcomes back Cameron Keiber, Boston singer songwriter and frontman for the Beatings and Eldridge Rodrigues, to open the show. http://dennisbrennanmac.bpt.me/
