Off to the races – your 2015 candidates for town office

The nomination papers are in and have been certified by the town clerk. There are three races that will be contested (Selectmen, Library, Schools, and Park Commissioner). Election day is April 28th (more info here). There are 8 uncontested races. Your candidates for town wide offices are:

Board of Selectmen – 2 candidates for 1 seat

  • Denis Keohane (I)
  • David Burnes

School Committee – 3 for 2 seats

  • LeeMichael Maclean
  • Kevin Donahue
  • Sheila Varela

Park Commissioner – 2 candidates for one seat 

  • Robert Kelly
  • Brian Montville

Trustee of the Public Library – 4 candidates for 3 seats

  • Herb Voigt (I)
  • Andrea Gordon
  • Paul Hays
  • Doug Scibeck

That’s it for contested races. The following offices are uncontested.

Town Clerk – Susan Galvin (I)

Town Treasurer – Jim McAuliffe (I)

Board of Assessor – Jim Henderson (I)

Constables – 2 candidates for two seats

  • Eric Issner
  • Fenol Jean-Baptist

Board of Health – Laura Richards (I)

Housing Authority

  • 5 year term – Joseph Duffy (I)
  • 3 year term – Phillip Driscoll

Trustee of the Cemetery

  • 5 year term – Steven Fruzetti
  • 1 year term – Stephen Pender

Planning Board – Cheryl Tougias

Town Meeting

With regard to Town Meeting, seats what a difference a week makes. Last week there were 18 seats that were possibly going to be vacant. Now there will be at least one constested seat in 7 out of Milton’s 10 precincts. Here is a table of the totals. You can find complete lists of candidates for Town Meeting here.

    Correction: This initial post had two errors in the table of Town Meeting Members. There are 11 candidates (not 10) for 9 seats in Precinct 7. Also, there are 9 candidates (not 8) for 8 seats in Precinct 10. We apologize for the error.
