Any car parked on these DCR roads will be towed by MSP. TAKE NOTICE.Last, there is NO bylaw in Milton mandating the “clearing of sidewalks.” We cannot and do not fine for this. MEMA relief for Wednesday 2/18 includes 1 Front-End Loader and 5 Dump Trucks from Pennsylvania DOT. There assistance is greatly appreciated!
UPDATE Pennsylvania DOT has added 5 backhoes Kuala assets. Pennsylvania DOT will also be spending two full days in Milton. That will be Wednesday February 18th and Thursday February 19th.
The weather front moving in on Saturday could bring either substantial snow or substantial rain. Believe it or not snow is far more welcome over rain. The flooding after all that we have been through would be devastating!Massachusetts National Guard has sent a an eight man hydrant clearing crew on both Friday and Saturday. Hydrant clearing was suspended for the storm period.
Through MEMA, New York DOT sent four front-end loaders to us on Sunday afternoon. They worked for three hours. We widened…
• Wendell Park East
• Manning Lane
• (All primary roads in) Indian Cliffs
• Sumner (from Canton to Gould)
• Huntington (Full length)
• Gardner (Full Length)
New York DOT sent two front-end loaders to us this morning. They will work with us for a full day. We are widening…

We continue to have open disaster assistance requests for loaders, truck, and hydrant crews. – JoeJoseph W. Lynch – Director
Town of Milton Department of Public Works
From Milton Fire Dept.
2/17 – Here is a message from Fire Chief Jack Grant
I would like to thank every member of the Department for their continued extraordinary efforts clearing the Town ‘s hydrants. All three engines are on the road all day, everyday, week in week out in this effort.
My sincerest thanks also go out to each and every resident that has helped us out during this exceptionally difficult time.
Finally, we understand that there are many of you who have attempted to help, but have been unsuccessful in locating a hydrant. We understand your frustration, but ask for your patience, it is very unusual for hydrants on the side roads to be completely buried as they currently are. With that said, all of our manpower is committed to the digging effort. We will get to them, but ask that you understand we are unable to respond to individual requests to locate single hydrants.
Chief Grant
A question for the DPW and Mr. Lynch,
Why are roads in neighborhoods like Indian Cliffs being widened when the property sizes are much larger and residents have substantially more space to put their snow? Shouldn’t the DPW be prioritizing residential zone c districts, then B, etc for snow removal and street widening prior to residential zone AA and A districts?
Thanks,
Mark Botelho
