Joseph T. DeBesse, age 84, of Milton, passed away January 24th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from Commerce High Class of 1946 and went on to attend Cornell and graduated from Boston University. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division for 20 years.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2749, a volunteer at the Milton Hospital and enjoyed spending time at the Milton Council on Aging. Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, cribbage, reading and doing puzzles. Beloved husband for 58 years of Mary Ann (Carr). Father of Joseph T. Jr. of Milton, Paul R. of Marshfield, Annemarie Flaherty of South Hadley, Meg Balfe of Holbrook, Ruth DeBesse of Randolph, Marilyn Kasper of Nashua and Laura Faherty of Rockland. Brother of Robert F. DeBesse and his wife Patricia of TX and the late Paul R. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton, Friday morning at 11:15.
