Joyce Encouraging Residents to Attend Second Amazon Hiring Fair

Senator Brian A. Joyce is encouraging residents to stop by the Stoughton High School, 232 Pearl St. in Stoughton on Saturday, Nov. 22 from noon to 5 p.m. for another hiring fair that Amazon is holding for their new sorting warehouse in Stoughton. Amazon will be making some job offers for seasonal work on the spot. Interested residents will need proof of education and a photo ID at the very least.

“This is an opportunity for local residents looking for work,” said Joyce.

Stoughton’s elected and appointed town officials worked with Amazon and welcomed the opportunity to attract the Internet retailer to town, and Senator Joyce and Representatives Lou Kafka and Bill Galvin supported a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) exemption for the Internet retailer. The TIF offers a reduced personal property tax rate for the first 10 years of the facility’s operations.
