And then there is the Fruit Center’s ongoing success with worker satisfaction – kind of a big deal especially in light of recent headlines. For the seventh consecutive year, the Boston Globe has released its comprehensive list of Top Places to Work in Boston, and Fruit Center Marketplace has placed # 9 out of 40 winners in the Midsize Companies category. This privately held gourmet grocer, with 210 employees and two locations south of Boston — in Milton and Hingham jumped 20 spots from its 2013 position.
What constitutes a Top Place to Work ? Key factors include company direction and execution, employee connections, work load and responsibility, management, pay, and benefits.
“The Globe’s annual survey tells us exactly what we hope to hear,” said Fruit Center co-owner Michael Mignosa. “That management does things efficiently, that new ideas are encouraged, and that our employees feel well-informed about critical decisions concerning the company and their jobs. We could not be more pleased to join the other Top 10 midsized companies in the greater Boston area.”
Congrats to the Fruit Center Marketplace.
The Best Places to Work ran as a supplement in today’s Boston Globe.
