St. Mary of the Hills begins fundraising for annual Walk for Haiti!

This school year will be the 4th year that St. Mary of the Hills in Milton will continue their support for the Haiti-Micah Project. The Haiti-Micah Project is a non-profit organization that assists needy children in Haiti by providing education, food and clean water, vocational training, healthcare and emotional support.

Every spring, St. Mary of the Hills students organize the “Walk for Haiti” which includes a 3 mile and a 7 mile route around the town of Milton. All proceeds go directly to the Haiti-Micah Project. Last year, St. Mary’s raised and donated over $4,000 to the project.
This year, students have begun fundraising early. On Friday afternoons, pizza and snacks from “Boston House of Pizza” in Roslindale are sold to raise money. Most Fridays, the money raised goes to support the 8th grade graduating class, however this year the Junior National Honor Society decided to designate more lunches to the Walk for Haiti. Last Friday, students and faculty showed their support for the cause by sporting last year’s Walk for Haiti T-shirts. St. Mary of the Hills will continue to support the Haiti-Micah project as a school and a community. Donations are welcomed and can be sent to St. Mary of the Hills School.
