David J. Coen, 43, of Boston, originally of Milton, passed away unexpectedly in Montego Bay, Jamaica, August 30.
Born in Boston, he was raised in Milton and has lived in Boston since 1999. David attended St. Agatha’s School in Milton, Boston College High School, and went on to graduate from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. David worked in financial management and more recently in property management in Boston.
David will be remembered for his compassionate, loving spirit and his enthusiasm for Boston sports teams. David was an avid reader and had a thirst for knowledge.
Beloved son of Michael and Barbara Coen of Cotuit. Loving brother of Michael Coen Jr. and his wife, Madalene, of Washington, D.C., Robert Coen and his wife, Darlene, of Maryland, Colette Gilchrist and her husband, Jay, of Canton, and Joseph Coen and his significant other, Stephanie Roche, of Boston. Loving uncle of Amber Perry, Kyle Coen, Katherine Coen, Emma Coen, Brianna, Abby and Julianne Gilchrist.
A funeral mass was held in St. Agatha Church in Milton and burial was in Canton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the David J. Coen Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Agatha School, 440 Adams St., Milton, MA 02186. The scholarship will be given annually to a graduate of St. Agatha School moving on to BC High.
