Visitors are welcome to bring their own fishing rod and reel or may borrow them at no charge. At noon, the Kickin’ Brass Band will lead a parade around Houghton’s Pond.

The event is sponsored by Friends of the Blue Hills, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, Mass Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, Blue Hills Bank Charitable Foundation and Doctors Express.

Rick Kesseli of Milton is a board member of Friends of the Blue Hills and will be on hand to teach juggling to anyone interested in learning the skill. According to Kesseli, “Summer Fest is one of the best events in the Blue Hills all year. It’s perfect for families looking for a great way to explore the Blue Hills, try their hand at fishing, learn a little bit about nature, and have some fun.”
