Parishioners at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church have collected more than 200 pre-school level books to benefit the Masakhane Trust, a South African organization dedicated to providing quality education to disadvantaged, young children. The books were collected this spring and the church plans to send the donations to South Africa in summer 2014. Educators will use the books to enrich the organization’s preschool program which strives to provide children a sound foundation for lifelong learning. St. Michael’s parishioners also collected more than $300 for the Masakhane Trust to use on educational supplies and needs. For more information on the Masakhane Trust, visit St. Michael’s Episcopal Church’s website at stmichaelsmilton.org.
