MHS Weekly Bulletin for week of 2/24

 

Mon, 2/24

  • Senior Shout Outs are back!  Stop by Ms. Plunkett’s room this week.  For $1 you can have a shout out to your favorite senior printed in this year’s yearbook!  Act fast!

  • This afternoon from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. there will be a Nutrition Workshop in the field house.  The workshop will cover pre-game nutrition, post-game nutrition, and hydration.  It is open to all MHS Students, but the focus will be centered on student-athletes.

Tue,   2/25

  • The library will be closed all day today, Tuesday, February 25.

  • The Homework Club will meet in room 307 today.

  • Tonight we will be holding our Program of Studies/AP Information Night starting at 6:30pm in the auditorium.  We will review changes to our Program of Studies, graduation requirements and discuss our Advanced Placement Program.

Wed, 2/26

  • Today is Block A.  Group Guidance 11C will meet during advisory period.

  • The library will be closed after school.

  • The Homework Club will meet in room 210 today.

  • The Gay Straight Alliance will meet on Wednesday after school in room 310.  All are welcome!

  • The Debate Team will meet Wednesday after school in Mr. Fitzgerald’s room.  New members are welcome.  Even if you are just curious, stop by.

  • The Dramatics Society will be presenting Rabbit Hole in the auditorium at 7 p.m. tonight!

Thu,   2/27

  • Today is Block B.  Group Guidance 11A will meet during advisory period.

  • The Student Leaders will be visiting Grade 9 advisories today.

  • The back section of the library will be closed today for Kindergarten registration.  The computer section will remain open all day.

  • The Homework Club will meet in room 210 today.

  • There will be an Add Awareness meeting today after school in room 127.

  • Tonight there is a Grades 5 – 12 Band Concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Fri, 2/28

  • The Poetry Club will meet in room 211 on Friday.  All are welcome!

  • There will be a Cans for Cats bottle and can drive this Saturday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

  • ATTENTION SENIORS: if you want to submit any candid photos for the 2014 yearbook, please join the facebook group “MHS Candids 2014”, upload all photos to that page and the yearbook staff will get your pictures in this years yearbook. (All photos will be screened by the administration!!!)

  • Pre-order your YEARBOOK and have your name engraved on the cover!  Go to www.yearbookforever.com and follow the MHS prompts.  You have until March 15th to pre-order. Don’t wait until June!

Employment Opportunities

  • Star Market is currently hiring for several part time associates at our store in Dorchester.  The store will be flexible working with class schedules and would love to hire some Milton High School students.  Working at Starr Market typically is a great first time job for many!

Community Service

  • The Master Planning Board and Master Plan Committee are looking for students who would like to earn community service hours.  They are looking for help on Saturday, March 1st from 9am-12pm at Fuller Village, 1372 Brush Hill Road.  They are looking for:

    • students to provide child care for children who accompany their parents; and

    • students to help facilitate youth discussions on where Milton should be going from a student perspective.
