Certification in elder law – one of the fastest growing fields in the legal profession – will provide a measure of assurance to the public that the attorney has an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly.
Philip D. Murphy, of the Law Office of Philip D. Murphy in Milton, MA is now a Certified Elder Law Attorney. Attorney Murphy has practiced law for over 30 years and focuses his practice on Elder and Special Needs Law, including Estate/Medicaid Planning, Probate, Real Estate and Guardianships. He is a cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, Suffolk University Law School and Boston University Law School Graduate Tax Program. Attorney Murphy is a lifelong resident of Milton, MA where he lives with his wife and two children.
Philip D. Murphy is past president (2012) and current member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a professional association of attorneys who are dedicated to improving the quality of legal services provided to seniors and people with special needs. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Bar Association of Norfolk County and the Norfolk & Plymouth Estate and Business Planning Council. Attorney Murphy has actively served the town of Milton as a Town Meeting Member and as a chairman or member of various Milton town committees, including the Warrant Committee, Capital Planning Committee, Library Study Committee, Affordable Housing Task Force and Tax Exempt Steering Committee. He is currently a Board Member of South Shore Elder Services, Bayada Nurses Professional Advisory Board and Quincy Tennis Club, as well as Chair of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton Annual Fund Committee and a member of the BID-Milton Overseers, Philanthropy Committee and President’s Council.
Philip D. Murphy is a frequent lecturer throughout the South Shore on topics involving Elder and Special Needs Law and Estate/Medicaid Planning. He volunteers his time at the Milton Council on Aging Senior Center at its free once-a-month legal information clinic.
