Notice from the Milton Police Department
Last month, we reported that residential housebreaks had dropped to “5” for the month of October. This was a 61% reduction. In November, this number fell to just “1” house break. This is very good news and comes as a result of diligent police work, informed citizens and a great amount of effort by both. As we enter December, the temptation and need to commit such crimes will rise, so your continued attention and caution regarding the care of your homes is very important. Thieves know citizens spend a lot of money as the holidays approach. In 2012, there were 9 residential breaks. Please take caution with your cash and credit cards, lock your gifts in a secure area and keep your homes locked. If you are out shopping for a day at a mall and going in and out of stores with merchandise, lock your gifts inside the trunk. If you have an SUV, cover them and lock the vehicle. To everyone who takes the time to pick up a phone to call us or send an email, we thank you very much…
Great news and good work for the MPD but before we take a victory lap , how about some comparative data. We need to be able to see what was a result of good police work ( which I believe is the case) but to to look at Milton in isolation, which MAY skew actual results.
how did Canton, Westwood,Dedham , Hingham et al fare in the same time period? Just curious as we need to compare apples to apples before we take a bow and relax.
