Polls are open. There is a primary election today in Precincts 1 & 2 for state representative. Dan Cullinane, Stephanie Everett, and Marydith Tuitt are running on the Democratic ticket for the 12th Suffolk District seat. The district includes those two precincts as well as parts of Mattapan, Hyde Park, and Dorchester. The seat became available when Linda Dorcena Forry won election to the Massachusetts Senate.

There are no candidates on the Republican ticket.

Precinct 2 votes at the Council on Aging, Precinct 1 votes at the Tucker School.

The final election will be held September 10th. There are two independents expected to challenge the Democratic nominee. They are Lincoln Larmond of Mattapan and Edmond Romulus of Milton.
