Per Department of Revenue (DOR) requirements, the Assessors have contracted with Patriot Properties Inc to begin inspecting all properties in Milton. The process will take about 3 years and be completed by the 2016 fiscal re-evaluation.

The process will begin by inspecting all properties that have been issued building permits. However, the DOR requires all properties to be visited for accuracy. The process was last done in 2006. Inspectors will be checking exterior building measurements and a conduct an interior inventory of the number of rooms, plumbing, heating, etc. According to the notice from Town Hall they will be noting property characteristics, not determining property value.
