Dale Snyder, a teacher at Milton High School and coach of the girls track team was arrested for assault according to a release from the Milton Police Department. Superintendent Gormley issued a statement to parents according to the Boston Globe, stating, “The Milton Public School system takes any allegations which suggest a threat to the safety and integrity of our students extremely seriously,” Gormley said. “We therefore ask each parent/guardian to have a very frank and open discussion with their children.”

This afternoon, Milton Police Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for an Abington man. This warrant names one Dale Snyder DOB 2/23/49. Mr. Snyder is employed as a teacher and girls track coach at Milton High School. Earlier this week, information was brought forward to this Department that this individual has allegedly engaged in unlawful conduct with a young female student.
He was immediately placed on administrative leave by the Milton School Administration.
Subsequent investigation by Milton Detectives with assistance from with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office, led to the issuance of the warrant in Quincy District Court today. Mr. Snyder was arrested by Milton Police at his Abington home. He has been charged with Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child over the age of 14, and two counts of Assault and Battery. He is being held on $25,000 bail and will be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday morning June 10th at 9:00 am.
