Amy Morgan Link, a member of the board of the Milton Historical Society, has launched a web site on Milton History as a component of her efforts to providing 5th Grade Milton students with a unique historical tour of Milton. Ms. Link writes on that:
This blog was set up to enrich the tour experience by allowing the students to do a little exploring on their own. We want to show you how much fun history can be! This is our town history. It’s filled with stories and interesting people and adventure. It’s up to you to get out there to explore it and make it come alive. Be a History Detective!
The Milton Historical Society has long supported the 5th-Grade Tour of Milton by providing materials, texts, tour guides, and coordinating a day of history for the students of Milton Public Schools. A new Milton History Blog, created by Historical Society education team Amy Morgan Link and Judy Kennedy, has sparked unprecedented enthusiasm among Milton’s 5th graders and their teachers.
Amy and Judy gathered input from the teachers and from students about how to grow engagement in our community, and from their meetings and conversations has grown this web opportunity. You can ask questions, go exploring, and learn fun stuff about our Town of Milton.
Over the years, several walking, biking, and driving tours of Milton and Milton’s natural and historic treasures have been developed, and these will soon be consolidated, so that anyone can discover the many, many wonderful features of Milton and Milton’s long history.
You can find it here.
