Secretary Davey commits $300K to Senator Joyce in support of East Milton deck

At last night’s Town Meeting Senator Brian A. Joyce stated that Secretary Davey of the Department of Transportation had pledged $300,000 to fund the design engineering phase of the East Milton parking and traffic project. Today Secretary Davey confirmed the funding in a letter stating:

that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation will transfer or otherwise deliver $300,000 to the Town of Milton for planning, design and construction costs associated with improvements, alterations or renovations to the overpass spanning Interstate 93 in East Milton Square. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will affect said transfer or delivery on or before June 15, 2013

This is the most recent in a series of funds and opportunities the Senator has secured or is in the process of obtaining on behalf of Milton. He recently announced a $1 million MassWorks grant that will be used for enhancements to public areas and connect the Central Ave business district with Milton Village. Joyce is also working to acquire the transportation yard on Granite ave on behalf of the town. A committee was recently formed to develop ideas and proposals for the property.

Following is the text of the letter from Secretary Davey to Senator Joyce.
