Art at the Milton Public Library

During the month of February, the Milton Public Library, located at 476 Canton Avenue, has a display in the Wotiz Gallery of paintings by local artist Brian Queally.  His work includes images of local scenery around Milton and the area, and of Ireland.  Mr. Queally is a Milton native, and studied painting at the Art Institute of Boston and at Mass. College of Art.  He is heavily influenced by “fauvist” painters and by the love of his Irish heritage which can be seen clearly in his work.  Also this month there is childrens artwork from many local schools on display in the Keys Community Room (lower level) and this exhibit is sponsored by the group ArtSpace Milton.

During March, Milton quilter Marilyn Masterson will exhibit wall hangings and other beautiful hand-sewn pieces in the Wotiz Gallery. The artist, a long-time Milton resident, learned to sew as a child and many of her quilt pieces have been featured in exhibits and shows around New England, most recently in the Cohasset Church show.  She currently creates custom and special orders between designing her own pieces, and this display will showcase watercolor pieces, machine-stitched pictures, and necktie wall hangings.  Please come and enjoy these fine exhibits, and we welcome all to attend an open reception in the Wotiz Gallery on Tuesday, March 5th from 6-8 PM
