Town Administrator candidate pool back up to 4

by Frank Schroth

The candidate pool of town administrator candidates is back up to 4. The Board of Selectmen had tasked the Town Administrator Search Committee to submit up to 5 candidates to the Selectmen to chose from. The committee referred 4 (view related commentary here). Since then one of the candidates, Richard Lafond of Bridgewater, withdrew his name from consideration. As a result the Selectmen asked the search committee to recommend another giving them 4 candidates to consider.

The search committee has submitted David Caron, interim Town Manager in North Hampton, NH. He has been in that position since last September. Prior to that he was Town Magager in Londonderry, NH. He left that position due to family responsibilities and a controversy over impact fees (see related story here.) However, no blame was placed on Mr. Caron and Londonderry Town Council Chairman read a statement at that time, “During that time, it has become apparent to Mr. Caron and the council that the combination of the Caron family emergency and the town’s pressing business, including the impact fees situation … has rendered it advisable for Mr. Caron and the town to sever their relationship.”

The selectmen will be interviewing the Town Administrator candidates this coming Monday (2/25). The schedule is:

  • 6:30 – Kevin O’Donnell
  • 7:15 – Grady Miller
  • 8:00 – David Caron
  • 8:45 – Annmarie Fagan
