The Milton Players continue their 80th season with Ken Ludwig’s madcap backstage comedy Moon Over Buffalo, to be presented February 1-10. Moon Over Buffalo is a popular farce about fading actors George and Charlotte Hay, who arrive in Buffalo, NY to perform Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives with their traveling theater troupe.

George and Charlotte’s marriage is on the rocks due to George’s dalliance with the young ingénue, and Charlotte considers running off with the family attorney. After the Hays hear that famous director Frank Capra is considering them for his next movie and is en route to their show, hilarity ensues, including multiple mistaken identities, romantic entanglements and performance disasters.

Director Vickie Kirichok describes the show as a lot of fun featuring “one-liners, sight-gags, mistaken identity, costume catastrophes, and confusion.” Milton resident Cathy Larson, who stars as Charlotte Hay, agrees that audiences will find the farce irresistibly comical: “I still laugh repeatedly during rehearsal, even though I know what’s coming.”

Moon Over Buffalo runs February 1, 2, 8 & 9 at 8PM and February 10 at 2PM at the Milton Woman’s Club, 90 Reedsdale Rd. (Rt. 28). For tickets or more information visit www.miltonplayers.org or call 617-698-769.
