Notice from the Office of the Town Clerk
The Annual Town Election will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Nomination Papers will be available beginning Monday, January 28, 2013 from Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin. To have a name place on the ballot, candidates for Town-wide office must collect the signatures of fifty (50) registered voters and Town Meeting Member candidates must collect the signatures of ten (10) registered voters within their precinct. In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 53, Section 17, nomination papers will be given only to the candidate or a person who presents a signed authorization to secure nomination papers on behalf of a candidate. All nomination papers must be filed with the Board of Registrars by 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
All Incumbent Town Meeting Members must file written notice of intention to the
Town Clerk by 5 P.M. March 5, 2013 to have their name placed on the ballot.
The following officers are to be elected in April:
One SELECTMAN and SURVEYOR OF THE HIGHWAY for a term of three years
A TOWN TREASURER for a term of one year
One ASSESSOR for a term of three years
Two SCHOOL COMMITTEE members for a term of three years
One PARK COMMISSIONER for a term of three years
One Member of the BOARD of HEALTH for a term of three years
Three TRUSTEES of the PUBLIC LIBRARY for a term of three years
Four CONSTABLES for a term of three years
One MODERATOR for a term of three years
One HOUSING AUTHORITY for a term of five years
One TRUSTEE of the CEMETERY for a term of five years
One PLANNING BOARD member for a term of five years
Town Meeting members as follows:
- Precinct One: Nine for a term of three years, One for a term of two years
- Precinct Two: Eleven for a term of three years
- Precinct Three: Ten for a term of three years, One for a term of one year
- Precinct Four: Eleven for a term of three years, One for a term of two years, One for a term of one year
- Precinct Five: Nine for a term of three years
- Precinct Six: Ten for a term of three years
- Precinct Seven: Ten for a term of three years
- Precinct Eight Ten for a term of three years
- Precinct Nine: Ten for a term of three years
- Precinct Ten: Six for a term of three years
