Chief Richard Wells Sr.

The Department is sad to announce the death tonight of retired Police Chief Richard Wells Sr. Chief Wells joined the department in 1949 and served the Town for 43 years. He was Chief of Police from 1987 until his retirement in 1992. The photo depicted here was taken when he attended this years National Night Out Event in August and viewed the new Police Interceptor cruisers. It would be his last visit to MPD headquarters. For all of his life he maintained a great pride in the men and women of the Milton Police Department. May he rest in peace…he will be missed.
